Modern hymns...

We were in a cafe. A beautiful place, really nice food. We were alone until parents plus adolescent child arrived.

Their discussion centered on what A Levels this boy should commit himself too for the sake of his future.

The boy appeared to be weighed down by his future self now metaphorically hanging in the balance...in a small cafe on a Saturday afternoon.

And, mid conversation this really is what his father said to him:
Do you think that when Hitler stood before all those people at Munich, he had simply stepped 'ready made' onto the stage? No son, it had taken years of hard work, years of trying...
I found it very hard not to cry, I was finding it so difficult not to laugh.

And then on Friday there was the Rammstein 'video' (I like that archaic term- video-  MP4 never made it past the google page: Flash or SWF have become hot Air):

Mein Land (which rhymes with Rhine Land) released on the 11th of the 11th.

That made me laugh too, Rammstein are such trolls.

The Rhine Land was one of those things Hitler did as a consequence of all those people coming to see him in Munich.

Yep, I blame 'the masses'...

Anyway!
Mein Land, followed by more trolling:

I wonder how the Wiemar Republic is imagined today.
Is Wiemar another Arcadia: an imagined land of beauty and perfection tinged with sadness;the melancholic sense of the transience of earthly things.

This invocation portrays it as 'Babylon'

And this one- the one Blogger wont let me post-  is just plain hilarious :)
